Born and raised in North London, My parents came to the Uk during the Wind-Rush era. Growing up, community was about survival. I saw London as a place where communities amalgamated and shared culture's, living and growing side by side.
As a Rastafari I started my career as a registered childminder, and a play leader then i went on to become a SEN youth worker.Moving to Cardiff raising my children being apart of a new community giving my time to support the community was a natural course for me to follow
It started with organising a game of rounders over the park, then it was about the lack of play & educational services for our pre-school children. I starting the tenants assciation to address the needs of the community and went on to becoming chair of the Tenants Consultive committee (TCC), and member of their board of directors. After We piloted the 1st community house and supporting the CIH implementing the Race equality housing Action plan 2000. I served 9years as a trustee, and 4years as vice chair for a Welsh Assembly organisation, Tai Pawb.
My work has always been in a volunteering capacity and volunteering for a conservation charity, thats makes a difference by giving back to the heart of the communities, and supported community education and gave away free educational resources. It was here where I learned so much about the impact we are having on our planet, and the state we are leaving it in for the next generations. The climate is changing and pollution is said to be a big factor in the earth warming up. NiaBility 1st is my chance to bring people together so we can make a difference in the well-being of ourselves and our planet
